Mars Geodesy/cartography Working Group Recommendations on Mars Cartographic Constants and Coordinate Systems
NASA's Mars Geodesy/Cartography Working Group (MGCWG), established in 1998 and chaired since 2000 by one of us (TCD), consists of leading researchers in planetary geodesy and cartography at such diverse institutions as JPL, NASA Ames and Goddard Centers, Purdue and Ohio State Universities, Malin Space Science Ssystems, the German Center for Aerospace Research DLR, and the US Geological Survey, ...
متن کاملQuadratic serendipity finite elements on polygons using generalized barycentric coordinates
We introduce a finite element construction for use on the class of convex, planar polygons and show it obtains a quadratic error convergence estimate. On a convex n-gon, our construction produces 2n basis functions, associated in a Lagrange-like fashion to each vertex and each edge midpoint, by transforming and combining a set of n(n + 1)/2 basis functions known to obtain quadratic convergence....
متن کاملOn Dominance and Minuscule Weyl Group Elements
Fix a Dynkin graph and let λ be a coweight. When does there exist an element w of the corresponding Weyl group such that w is λ-minuscule and w(λ) is dominant? We answer this question for general Coxeter groups. We express and prove these results using a variant of Mozes’s game of numbers.
